Being outdoors can be fun when it’s warm and balmy but not so if there’s rain or even a cyclone. Unfortunately for our homeless people, they don’t have the choice to hunker down indoors.
Helping Tauranga’s homeless and needy is Under the Stars, a local charitable trust set up to offer nutritious meals to those that need them, especially the homeless. Under the Stars feeds over 100 Tauranga locals weekly from their base at 45 Cliff Road: providing lunches on Thursdays and dinners on Saturdays.
Assisting Under the Stars’ volunteers are businesses like DOCA Café (formerly Dry Dock Café) in Tauranga.
With the assistance of corporate partner S&L Land Specialists, DOCA paid-it-forward ten of their delicious meals to Under the Stars. Both the volunteers and guests of Under the Stars were very grateful.
When you’re in DOCA next enjoying your meal or maybe a little sweet treat, add a little to your bill to help DOCA to keep on giving to those in need via Under the Stars.
