If you’re feeling stressed about what to cook for dinner this evening, spare a thought for those who feel stressed knowing there is nothing to cook for dinner tonight. These are the people in our community who The Salvation Army seeks to help.

The Salvation Army has been in New Zealand for over 100 years, and their mission is “caring for people, transforming lives and reforming society.”  They offer practical assistance in many ways, such as budgeting advice, life skills programmes or offering meals.

To help them offer more meals to those in need, Tauranga restaurant Salva D’Or paid-it-forward five of their delicious italian meals to The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army was very grateful for the meals and for Salva D’Or’s generosity.

Working alongside Salva D’Or is HospoConnect, who supply restaurants with all the ingredients and equipment they need to make their culinary delights. Together Salva D’Or and HospoConnect have been able to work together to offer a better future for people in the community.

So, if you decide to have a meal at Salva D‘Or instead of cooking something, feel free to be part of this generosity by paying-it-forward on top of your bill. Or if you feel like a different cuisine, check out our marketplace to choose another generous restaurant near you.

Buon appetito!
