Birthday facial paid-forward by SELF_

Getting her first ever facial was the ultimate treat for a local woman in need of a pick-me-up. For some of us, a facial provides some time out and a feeling of being nurtured, but for others, it's not something they have ever been in a position to experience.

Thanks to SELF_ Mount Skin Community and Tauranga Womens Refuge, this experience was made possible.

In keeping with their service of helping people look and feel better about themselves, SELF_ and their customers also regularly pay-it-forward to charities in the local community. Now, SELF_ has teamed up with us here at GoGenerosity, so, when you are paying for your treatment or product at SELF_, you can add a bit extra to the bill, which SELF_ will then pool with all their other customer's pay-it-forwards AND match the amount given to create vouchers for people in need.

One such voucher was this $150 facial given to Tauranga Womens Refuge.

Tauranga Womens Refuge is an organisation that offers refuge for women and children who have experienced family violence. It operates under the premise that, “All women and children have the fundamental right to live free from fear and violence.”

Unbeknown to Tauranga Womens Refuge, the voucher arrived the day before the lady’s birthday, so it was an extra special treat! She was so happy to get the facial, especially as she had never had one before.
