The Toy Box: Kids can do anything

Did you have a toy box growing up? A special container that held your treasures and special toys that you could play with as a kid? Maybe some building blocks? A teddy bear? Some books?

Ah, fond memories! But not all kids get to have toys to play with at home. There isn’t always the money for playthings in some homes.

Enter The Toy Box. The Toy Box is a Te Puke-based company that sells a wide variety of toys online. They have art and craft supplies, train sets, bath toys and science sets. These are not only great toys but they’re educational as well! They even have role play toys like workbenches and mini kitchen sets. Your kids will love looking at all the toys!

The Toy Box is also aware that some kids don’t get to play with such fun toys, so they paid-it-forward a $100 voucher to KidsCan to be used for kids who need an extra toy in their lives.

KidsCan was set up in 2005 to help Kiwi kids in impoverished circumstances. KidsCan believes that encouraging kids to stay on at school is good for them, so they donate food, toiletries, and other basic essentials—as well as toys!—to families who need help. These families are usually identified by the partnering schools. KidsCan believes that encouraging kids to stay on at school and get a qualification can help them out of the poverty trap. KidsCan believes that kids can do well in school and life.
