Okay, so you normally find books in libraries, but libraries are also places for “nonprint materials organized and maintained for use” and are go-to areas for consultation, study, and research. So, if you are feeling hungry and need somewhere to consult and study the menu, and research your favourite pizza, then head along to the Mount Maunganui Pizza Library. The Mount Maunganui Pizza Library is located at 314 Maunganui Road in Mount Maunganui (they are now in Papamoa too). Their Mount outlet has been an “iconic eatery” for many years and offers “the best hand-crafted gourmet pizzas, covered with delicious seasonal toppings.” They are fully licensed as well. Oh … and they also have books in their eatery!
The Mount Maunganui Pizza Library has recently donated 12 pizzas to Under the Stars in Tauranga, an organisation of generous volunteers who began offering free meals “under the stars” to the homeless and needy in Tauranga. Under the Stars still offers meals to those in need in the community but does so under a fixed roof in a hall but they do so with the same generosity of spirit. Under the Stars operates under the mantra of “We help people without judgement or agenda” every Saturday evening for dinner and Thursdays for lunch. Under the Stars was grateful for the generosity of the Mount Maunganui Pizza Library in helping “to feed the hungry” in Tauranga.
GoGenerosity has worked with the Mount Maunganui Pizza Library and Under the Stars alongside its corporate partner, Holland Beckett Law, to give these pizzas to the community. Holland Beckett Law is a law firm in the Bay of Plenty with offices in Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatane, and Opotiki. Holland Beckett Law believes in community too and is “totally committed, not just as a firm, but as individuals to doing all we can to make the Bay of Plenty a community that is healthy, active and vibrant.” You can check out the long list of community organisations that Holland Beckett Law is involved with on their website—and, now, Under the Stars is another to add to their list.
Here’s how generous people just like you have made a difference to local people in need.
