BCB stands for Beef, Cheese, and Bacon—all put together in a delicious burger. Yum! What better reason to head on down to Roxie’s Red-Hot Cantina and Taco Joint at 113 Maunganui Road in Mount Maunganui. They also have salads and sharing plates in case you prefer a lighter meal, but all Roxie’s food is tasty and spicy, served in a warm Southern-style way. Roxie’s has again come to the party and given away 30 meals to Kura Kai—more generosity being shown as Roxie’s aims to carry on the tradition of paying-it-forward.

Kura Kai is an organisation that was set up to help young ones—those at secondary school—and their families. Firstly, they raise money to buy chest freezers that are stored by the secondary schools that Kura Kai supports.

Then, they “build a local community of volunteers who give their time, money and resources to cook nutritious family meals to help keep the freezers well stocked.”

The schools identify the needy young ones in their school community and distribute the meals. Again, in keeping with the pay-it-forward philosophy, Kura Kai also encourages the young people to keep an eye out for others in the community that may be in need of help and a delicious dinner. Roxie’s 30 meals helped to meet that need.

GoGenerosity’s motto is paying-it-forward, encouraging businesses like Roxie’s to give to organisations that are about offering a better future for our young people. Ka pai!
