Who thinks that “coffee goes with everything?” If that is you, head along to Mount Zion Coffee at 27 Spring Street in Tauranga—this is what they think too! The friendly folk at Mount Zion Coffee serve “brews till 2” (pm) and tell their clients that “not only do we do great coffee, but we also do great chat!” They open at 7am—that is quite a few hours Mount Zion Coffee is open so that you can head along and savour your favourite beverage.

During the first two weeks of June, 2022, Mount Zion Coffee offered 20 free coffees and hot chocolates to the staff and volunteers, and the people they work with at ReCreate Bay of Plenty, an organisation that offers various programmes for young people with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities in the local area.

ReCreate BOP wants to offer safe and convivial experiences for these young people and to provide “life changing experiences for youth with disabilities.”

Young ones can attend the ReCreate BOP programmes regularly or sporadically, but ReCreate could not do the work it does without help from volunteers and donations from people in the community—like Mount Zion Coffee.

The team at GoGenerosity, who also likes coffee (!), have worked with Mount Zion Coffee to make this pay-it-forward donation to ReCreate BOP possible. Thanks Mount Zion Coffee—we both believe (like others) for a better future for the young ones who are part of ReCreate BOP.
