Mention the word “disaster”, and most people in New Zealand will think floods and storms and Gabrielle. Some folk in the Hawkes Bay are still coming to terms with the loss of their homes, their jobs and their lives as they knew them. Having a torrent of water bring silt and sludge into and through their homes, these residents are trying to pick up the pieces of their lives, but they need help.
And this is where the New Zealand Red Cross comes in. The Red Cross has been gathering donations from generous Kiwis and others who want to help meet the needs in this ravaged community. Red Cross is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) that wants to improve the lives of vulnerable people, such as flood victims, and does so with the help of volunteers and monetary and other donations.
Nothing Naughty also wanted to be in on the action of helping others in need and being generous, and paid-it-forward $1,000 (yes, $1,000!) to Red Cross so they can continue their good work in the Bay, such as helping yellow-stickered homes in Wairoa and offering grants from their relief fund to those in need in the area.
Nothing Naughty makes snacks and supplements from their factory in the Waikato, but here’s the thing: all their food and supplements are healthy—there’s “nothing naughty” in their lineup of edible treats! They make yummy snacks like fruit bars, syrups and even almond butter, but all their ingredients are natural and usually made using high-protein ingredients. They also sell ingredients like keto flour so you can make your own delicious and healthy food as well.
When you’re next feeling peckish and want a sweet treat, think Nothing Naughty so that you can have food that tastes good and is good for you. You can also add a little to your bill to help Nothing Naughty to continue with their pay-it-forwards—there’s a lot of people in Hawkes Bay who’ll be grateful that you do.
Here’s how generous people just like you have made a difference to local people in need.
