Most of us like a little luxury in our lives, from diffusers to make our homes smell nice, to an evening relaxing with a nice face mask on. They’re often the things that make us feel good and elevate the day-to-day. But in times of crisis these moments that make us feel pampered can be out of reach.
For the women and children fleeing domestic abuse in their homes, the last thing on their minds is luxury. It’s finding a safe haven - which for those in Tauranga is at the Tauranga Women’s Refuge, which believes that women and kids should not have to be fearful or be subject to violence in their own homes.
The Paddington Store (in the Bayfair Shopping Centre, Mount Maunganui) wanted to give these women the chance to feel pampered and cared for.
They paid-forward eight pamper packs, each worth $77, to Tauranga Women’s Refuge. Each of these packs contained a face mask, compact mirror, soap, and lip balm to help make eight ladies at the Refuge feel special.
To make this possible The Paddington Store matches dollar for dollar all money given towards the Refuge via GoGenerosity. That’s generosity in action, something we love to see. Thanks Paddington!
If you’d like to play a part, head to The Paddington Store in-person or online and pay-it-forward whilst shopping for clothes, books, housewares and jewellery.
Here’s how generous people just like you have made a difference to local people in need.
