People against poverty: now that’s a call to action for all New Zealanders! Wellingtonians can join the crusade to fight inequality and help meet the needs of those less fortunate through Kiwi Community Assistance (KCA).

KCA offers a better future for locals in the Wellington region by receiving donations of food, clothing and household goods. Their generous volunteers then distribute these goods to front-line agencies who give to those in need. By doing this they make sure people in need receive help as soon as possible while reducing waste.

KCA also welcomes gifts of meals, and they rely on the generosity of businesses like The Hangar to do the good works they do. The Hangar paid-it-forward $400 worth of meals to KCA so that they could also pay-it-forward to meet meal needs in the community.

The Hangar—grounded at 119 Dixon Street in Wellington—began its life as the home of Flight Coffee before transporting itself into a place where people can come and see coffee beans being roasted as well as taste their delicious brews. They also offer all-day breakfasts and other delectable treats, like Halloumi Bowls and Chippy Cheesy Pleasy Burgers.

If you’re in need of a coffee fix, and a meal to go with it, why not fly in to The Hangar and check out their menu. You can add to your bill, too, and be part of the pay-it-forward giving that is helping to alleviate the effects of poverty in Wellington.
